Kamloops is located in the heart of BC\'s Thompson region and an ideal stop when travelling through the Canadian Rockies. Getting to and Travelling around
Kamloops is a 4 hour journey by car from Vancouver, and a 7 hour journey from Calgary. Car hire can be pre-booked through Travelpack and collected at the airport on arrival.
The Rocky Mountaineer train also stops overnight in Kamloops when travelling between Vancouver and Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise or Jasper.
Best Time and Weather
Kamloops is a year round destination. In the summer, temperatures average 27ÂºC, ideal for the many outdoor activities available. In the winter,the city centre is fairly mild,with temperatures between -5ÂºC and -15ÂºC and snowfall of around 6\". The surrounding mountains receive heavy snowfall of 4 to 8 feet and temperatures drop to between -15ÂºC and -30ÂºC.
