Explore the magnificent scenery and waterfronts of Ontario on this 14 nights self drive intinerary. Come on board and enjoy the mesmerizing sights of the tranquil lakes, majestic waterfalls, lush green landsacpes and charming wildlife.
Day 1:
Pick up your rental car at Toronto airport and make your way to your hotel.

Day 2: FREE DAY Toronto
Take in the waterfront, perhaps enjoy a lakeshore cruise or explore Toronto’s many museums and attractions. No stay in Toronto would be complete without a visit to the top of the CN Tower, the world’s tallest free standing structure – from which the views across the city and Lake Ontario are outstanding.

Day 3: Toronto – Georgian Bay (138 km) 
Your destination today is the Georgian Bay area known for it’s 30,000 Islands.

Day 4: FREE DAY Georgian Bay
Perhaps visit Sainte-Marie-among-the-Hurons, a community reconstructed to tell the story of early Jesuit missionaries and their Huron Christian converts. At the same location, the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre is the place to enjoy the famous Wye Marsh Trumpeter Swans. Nearby Discovery Harbour in Penetanguishene offers the chance to view two perfectly-recreated early nineteenth century schooners.

Day 5: Georgian Bay - Huntsville (131 km) 
Huntsville is near the entrance to Algonquin Provincial Park, renowned for its Lakes, forests and wildlife.

Day 6: FREE DAY Algonquin Park Area
Exploring this wilderness playground you may wish to participate in many of the following activities; Hiking, biking, boating and wildlife viewing are the order of the day – black bear and moose are often spotted, while the variety of birdlife will astound you. Explore Algonquin Park by traditional Voyageur canoe – a unique experience that can be arranged locally, enjoy a round of golf at one of the excellent local courses - or simply relax and soak up the region’s hospitality.

Day 7: Huntsville – Ottawa (349 km)
Today you will be traveling through Algonquin Park to Ottawa. Near the east gate visit the Interpretive Centre and Pioneer Logging Exhibit for an audio/visual presentation of the history of the park. Continue along the Ottawa River valley to reach the capital of Canada.

Day 8: FREE DAY Ottawa
Visit the parliament buildings, see the changing of the guard, stroll along the banks of the Rideau Canal, which in winter becomes a huge skating rink. Enjoy the By Ward Market, a colorful outdoor farmers’ market begun in the 1840’s. The surrounding streets house cafés, restaurants and boutiques. Perhaps take a lantern-lit evening walking tour of Ottawa, or a boat cruise along one of Ottawa’s many interconnecting waterways.

Day 9: Ottawa – Gananoque (156 km)
Your drive today brings you to the St. Lawrence Seaway to Gananoque the quaint riverside town of the 1000 Islands area.

Day 10: FREE DAY Gananoque
20 minutes away in the town of Kingston you may wish to spend some time at Fort Henry to experience the history of Canada.

Day 11: Gananoque – Rice Lake (226 km)
Drive west this morning towards the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region at Port Hope turn North towards Peterborough, once you reach Bailieboro take the #2 east to Keene, where you will be overnighting along the shore of Rice Lake. Here you may relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere of this waterbased vacation area.

Day 12: FREE DAY Rice Lake
Spend the day boating, canoeing, horse riding, quad biking, sailing, water-skiing, hiking, biking or flight seeing – the Kawartha Lakes area has something for everyone! For those seeking a little more relaxation, an evening stroll along the lakeshore is the perfect end to the day or why not try your hand at Rice Lakes’ excellent fishing – boats, guides, licences and tackle can all be arranged locally.

Days 13: Rice Lake – Niagara Falls (263 km)
Enjoy a leisurely drive around Lake Ontario, the historic town of Niagara-on-the Lake, this region is well known for its’ orchards and wine production, home to many cottage wineries. Along the scenic drive from Niagara on the Lake to Niagara Falls you will pass Peller Estates and Inniskillin. Further along the Niagara Parkway you will pass Queenston Heights Park, The Floral Clock and the Whirlpool Rapids.

Day 14: FREE DAY Niagara Falls
Tours can be taken locally or explore independently with the people mover included in the Great Gorge pass.

Day 15: Niagara Falls - Toronto (127 km) [Departure]
