Orissa Tribal Tour
Orissa, the lush green state, girdled by the Bay of Bengal, has seen some of the best fusions of traditional Indian art in its many temples and monuments. It was in Orissa, that Buddhism found some of its strongest exposure and cult following.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi. Upon arrival met and transfer to Hotel – The Claridges. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Delhi/Bhubaneshwar, by flight. Transfer from hotel to airport to board the flight for Bhubaneshwar. Transfer to Hotel.
Day 3: Bhubaneshwar/Konark/Puri, by surface. (100 Kms 03 Hrs.) Morning city tour of Bhubaneswar temples. Afternoon drive to Puri visiting Dhauli (The Rock Edict’s of Ashok), Pipli (The Applique Village) and Konark (Sun Temple). Visit of Jagannath Temple from the top of the library. Overnight at Hotel
Day 4: Puri/Gopalpur, by surface. (220 Kms. 04 Hrs.) Drive from Puri to Gopalpur on sea enroute visiting Chilika Lake. Boat ride and visit of Island temple – Kalijai Temple. Overnight at Hotel
Day 5: Gopalpur/Raygada, by surface, (270 Kms. 07 Hrs.) After breakfast drive from Gopalpur on sea to Rayagada visiting Taptapani (Hot Sulpher Spring). Overnight stay at Hotel
Day 6: Raygada/Kothgarh, by surface.(150 Kms. 05 Hrs.) After breakfast drive from Rayadaga to Kothgarh visit of Weekly Market of Kuttiya Kondh Tribe and Rasul Kondh Tribe. Overnight stay at Raygada.
Day 7: Raygada/Jeypore, by surface. (270 Kms. 06 Hrs.) Early morning drive to Chatikona then trek to a few villages of Dongariya Kondh Tribe (4-6 kms walking is required to see the tribal village as these tribes remain in the slope of the mountain and walk with the tribal people to the local market.) Then visit the weekly market after lunch drive to Jeypore. Hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Jeypore. Drive from Jeypore to Onuludelli visit of Bonda and Gadhaba Tribal Market (weekly market is on Thursday). Visit of a few Gadhaba villages and back to Jeypore. Overnight stay at Hotel
Day 9: Jeypore. Full day excursion to Gupteswar. Visit of Gupteswar Cave. Visit a Dhuruba tribal village & back to Jeypore (140kms/5hours). Overnight at hotel
Day 10: Jeypore/Vishakhapatanam , by surface. (220 Kms.). Drive to Lamtaput visit Gadhaba tribal market then drive to Vishakhapatanam visiting Araku Valley. Overnight stay Hotel
Day 11: Vishakahapatnam/Delhi, by flight. In time transfer to airport to catch the flight for Delhi. Arrive Delhi: Transfer to hotel
Day 12: Depart Delhi. In time transfer from hotel to airport to board the flight for onward destination.
Rules & regulations for visiting to Odisha tribes as follows.
1) The guest cannot visit the areas at night.
2) No photography / videography of the tribal persons belonging to PVTGs will be allowed
3) Physical proximity of the visitors to the PVTGs should be strictly prohibited. They are also not allowed to enter into the houses of the PVTGs .
4) No permission should be granted for any form of amusement / entertainment by the tribals for the benefit of visitors.
